Our team is a specialized group of therapists who share the commitment to the values upon which this practice was founded upon. As the Clinical Director and an EFT specialist, Peter provides the clinical direction that ensures our care remains both deeply human and professionally rigorous. Whether you meet with Peter or another member of the team, you are working with a therapist who is doing their best to enact an authentic, outcome-focused, evidence-based type of psychotherapy and counselling.

Frequently Asked Questions about Therapy in Ontario

  • Yes, for most plans. The majority of extended health benefit plans in Ontario cover services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (RP). While we do not offer direct billing, we provide a detailed receipt at the end of every session that you can easily submit for reimbursement. We always recommend checking with your provider to confirm that "Registered Psychotherapist" is included in your specific coverage.

  • We offer the best of both worlds. Our physical clinic is located in a beautiful space at 185 Young St, Suite 102, Hamilton, ON. For clients living in Toronto, Ottawa, London, or anywhere else in Ontario, we provide secure, PHIPA-compliant virtual therapy sessions. Research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person care, with the added benefit of being in your own comfortable environment.

  • A strong connection is the biggest predictor of success in therapy. We believe you should be picky. That’s why we offer a free 15-minute consultation—a "vibe check"—to see if we’re the right fit for you. If it doesn’t feel like a match, we won't take it personally; in fact, we'll help you find someone who might be a better suit. We’d rather you find the right support elsewhere than stay in a room where you don’t feel understood.

  • There is no "one-size-fits-all" timeline for growth. We always keep the door open for our clients to work at a pace that feels right for them—whether that means short-term support for a specific crisis or longer-term work to unravel deep-seated patterns. While the goal is always to equip you with the clarity and courage to navigate life without a therapist, we are here for as long as the work remains meaningful to you. Many clients find that 10 to 12 sessions provide a solid foundation for change, while others choose to continue the conversation to maintain momentum and deepen their insights.

  • Your first session is about moving past the surface. We’ll dive into the "why" behind your current struggle, discuss your history, and set collaborative goals. You won’t just be venting to a blank slate; you’ll be starting an active process of validation and challenge designed to get you unstuck from the very first meeting.
